Even in a family of special products, the Space 294 is special.
One of the few turntables on the market ever to be specifically designed to take
advantage of a 12 inch tonearm. The longer arm affords less tracking error than
a shorter arm,and Nottingham has been extremely clever in avoiding the pitfalls
typical of these longer and therefore heavier arms. By eliminating as much mass
as possible from the head shell end of the arm this table will still track
imperfect records with the best of them.
The 294 also has a 14" platter. By adding extra mass outside the diameter of the
record, Tom Fletcher has greatly improved the rotational stability of the
player. This turntable has all the improvements described in Ace Space but in
can only take 12" (294mm) tonearms and is not suitable for second tonearm. The
standard size HD kit can be fitted to this turntable if the customer wishes.
